Coronation Street 2024 recap: A year in the life of Carla Connor

It's been go, go, go for Carla Connor this year on Coronation Street and she's not had much of a break from the big storylines.

It's definitely been a year to remember for the Underworld boss. Here's all of the big things that happened this year for Carla.

Bobby's arrival

After Peter's Boxing Day exit in 2023, Carla didn't have much time to mope around and feel sorry for herself. Oh no. Instead, in came her nephew - Bobby Crawford.

Bobby's the son of Rob - and Carla didn't have any idea he even existed until he turned up at the start of the year and begged for a place to stay.

Bobby soon found himself a place to stay at Carla's flat and bagged himself a job at Underworld. But... he's gone down like Marmite with fans.

Coronation Street Carla Connor stolen money discovery

After the whole Stephen disaster, Daisy managed to access some money that he'd taken from Carla and Underworld.

Gaining the password to the account, Jenny and Daisy then took it and used it to buy the pub. Earlier this year, Carla found out that they'd actually used HER stolen money. She allowed them to continue running the place but would be a silent owner until they paid her back every penny they owed her.

Roy's arrest

When Lauren Bolton went missing, DS Swain started a murder investigation and soon arrested Roy on suspicion of murder.

Poor Roy had been caught by Bobby trying to do a good deed by cleaning Lauren's flat, but this made him a prime suspect.

With Roy in prison, Carla spent most of her time trying to get DS Swain to see sense. Roy was eventually released from prison as Lauren was found to actually be alive (but the whole ordeal almost cost him his life.)

Divorce

With Peter leaving at the end of last year to sail the seas, Simon told Carla that his dad had moved on with another woman. Carla was devastated when she saw the photos of Peter with his arm around the woman.

Later on in the year, Carla received the papers finalising her divorce. She didn't handle this very well at first but then took it as a sign to move on...

New love

Finding love again after Peter was the last thing on Carla's mind. But, love works in mysterious ways.

Initially making an enemy out of DS Swain, things changed when Carla started referring to her as Lisa.

And after months of dancing around their feelings for each other, they both finally gave into temptation and kissed each other (and more!)

Now, they're in an official relationship and even spent Christmas together.

Injury

Near the end of the year, the factory suffered a robbery at the hands of the Radcliffe brothers. She was hit on the head and later found unconscious by Betsy (who had helped Matty and Logan with their schemes).

Being rushed to hospital, Carla had emergency surgery for a bleed on the brain. Fortunately she made a recovery, but 2025 will see her health take a worrying turn yet again. But, will she be so lucky this time around?
