Since their breakup last December, Daisy Midgeley and Daniel Osbourne’s moments together have been subtle but constant, with their buried feelings becoming more and more obvious over the months.
Let’s take a look back at the year so far…
January
The year started off with a bang — though unfortunately for fans of the couple, this particular bang was with Bethany Platt.
Though Daisy and Daniel were seen to be getting close again on New Years Eve, a mistimed comment led to Daniel leaving the pub, feeling rejected. Feeling guilty, Daisy decided to head to his flat to share a kiss at midnight, and show him she wanted to a fresh start for 2024.
When she arrived at the flat, she was heartbroken to find Bethany there in nothing but a bedsheet.

The following day, Daisy and Jenny happened to see the Platts in the street. When Daisy whispered that Bethany was the one who Daniel had slept with, Jenny loudly declared this for the whole family to hear, exposing the rendezvous. Daniel, walking out of number 1 soon after, assumed Daisy had been the one to spill the beans and was livid with her.
On the 3rd, a point was made out of Daisy remembering Daniel’s birthday, after Bethany had forgotten all about it. After a mildly awkward encounter in the Rovers, the pair agreed to be civil going forward, knowing there was no way they could avoid each other.
Despite the civility between the exes, as the month progressed, Daisy and Bethany continued to clash, each woman’s feelings for Daniel causing an ongoing feud between them.
February
The second month of the year saw Bethany, desperate for new journalistic ideas, whihc culminated in her writing an article about Daisy, Daniel and Ryan. She spoke of the stalking, acid attack, catfishing and subsequent affair, rehashing details none of them — especially Daisy — wished to think about again.
Daniel, upon finding out about this, was understandably livid. Conflicted, he didn’t tell Daisy until it was too late.

Prior to the articles publication, the pair shared a few moments. After Daisy announced she was now the co-owner of the Rovers, Daniel spoke with her in the pub garden, telling her that he was happy for her. Sparks were clearly flying between the two, but the moment was broken when Bethany arrived. As Daniel left with her, longing looks were shared between the exes.
A few days later, a hopeful Daisy told Glenda that they'd shared another moment, insisting they’d soon be back together. She spoke of how in love they’d been, certain they could get back on track. Unfortunately, Bethany’s article was published that same day. As Daisy learnt that Daniel had known about the article for a few weeks beforehand, she was crushed.
March
Feeling guilty, Daniel told Adam he felt as if he let Daisy down and was scared she’d never forgive him. A confused Adam reminded his Uncle that he was with Bethany now — to which Daniel told him things were complicated, as he had a history with Daisy.
As Ryan returned to Weatherfield, Daisy jumped at the chance for a distraction from the article, and though both Jenny and Carla warned the pair that a rebound borne of a trauma bond was unhealthy, they chose to ignore the obvious red flags and get together.

Come mid-March, despite both Daisy and Daniel being in other relationships, Daisy was the first to come running when she heard Daniel had been questioned by the police re: Lauren Bolton’s disappearance.
It was clear how much she cared, and Daniel was touched. There was clearly something still between them, and Daniel swiftly asked her to stay for a brew. Daisy declined, leaving Daniel a bit disappointed that she’d left.
April
After the article, the feud between Daisy and Bethany was in full swing. Daisy was left with plenty of reasons to despise her rival, and Bethany was quick to give as good as she got.
With Daniel quick to defend Daisy, Bethany finally agreed to be civil with her, stating that they needed to get along for Bertie’s sake.
Bethany, Daniel, Daisy and Ryan ended up having a very awkward dinner together in the back room of the Rovers, a few moments between Daniel and Daisy (i.e. Daniel checking Daisy out, and her laughing at a stupid joke Daniel made at the dinner table) leaving their current partners a bit uncomfortable.

Bethany, having rooted through her rival’s belongings and finding Stephen Reid’s diary, declared to the men that Daisy had been the one to steal £250k. Embarrassed, thinking she was making it up, Daniel assured they left.
The next week, Daniel spoke to Daisy in the cafe, and realising she truly had stolen Carla's money, he encouraged her to do the right thing. Encouraged by his words to her, Daisy promised Carla they'd pay her back over time.
May-July
With Daisy only gracing our screens three times across the subsequent three months, Daisy and Daniel moments were few and far between for awhile.

However, May did see an understandably confused Daniel return home to find his girlfriend and ex-fiancée drunk and watching Mean Girls together. It seemed the two had finally turned a corner with their rivalry, however temporarily.
The two women remained friendly enough for awhile, and when they bumped into each other in Roy’s, Daisy informed Bethany that Daniel had told her about the situation with Nathan, insinuating the two exes were once again close enough to be discussing their lives with each other.
August
After Kit bullied Beth Tinker (little Bertie’s great-Auntie, via Sinead) out of town, Daniel was left feeling greatly concerned by the bent copper. He already had a feeling that Kit had planted one of Lauren Bolton’s hairs in Nathan Curtis’ van, had seen video footage of his dealings with the same dodgy bloke Beth had been working with, and when he confronted him about it, he was threatened.

Daisy saw her ex looking forlorn, leading to a conversation between the pair. Kit had just moved into the Rovers, so she insisted he tell him what was going on. Though Daniel at first told Daisy he didn’t want her involved, he opened up to her about all he knew about Kit.
Concerned, she told him she thought he couldn’t be trusted, and Daniel should be careful. It was clear both Daisy and Daniel were worried about each other, and she went on to tell both Ryan and Jenny that she was wary of the police officer now.
September
After Paul Foreman sadly lost his battle with MND, the exes shared a hug, as he and Daniel had lived together for over a year, much of that being when he and Daisy were together, so they'd both known him well.
Bethany, seeing the hug, sensed there was something more between them. Her insecurities got the better of her, and she decided to take up the offer of heading to Turkey for a job.
When it came to Daniel dropping his girlfriend at the airport, he asked Daisy to watch Bertie for him. In the back room of the Rovers, it was clear how much of a connection there still was was between them.

Daisy had made a pot of Daniel’s favourite tea, and upon his return, he brought her favourite flowers as a thank you (which we saw juxtaposted beside a single flower Ryan had bought her, showcasing that he didn’t know her nearly as well as Daniel still did).
As they set about playing a board game with Bertie, the pair continued to tease each other, with Ryan watching on, realising Daisy still loved Daniel.
Soon after, Ryan broke up with her, realising her heart wasn’t with him and never would be. Soon, she admitted to Jenny something which her stepmother had known all along — she’d never stopped loving Daniel.
The following episode, after learning that Daisy had been dumped, Daniel showed up at the pub early doors with a coffee for her. The pair had a heart to heart, with Daisy finally admitting what viewers had known all along — her relationship with Ryan had been nothing more than shared trauma, leading to an unhealthy relationship that never would have lasted.

When Daniel asked what had suddenly caused their relationship to end, Daisy gave in, and told him that she was still in love with him, referencing their plans for the future (including a gondola ride in Venice and riding elephants in Egypt, apparently!)…Daniel was shell shocked, insisting that though he still cared about her too, too much had happened since they broke up.
It was clear as he left that he felt conflicted, and when he looked back, it seemed there might finally be some hope for a reunion…
Unfortunately, things changed quickly.
When eventually Daniel picked up a call from Turkey (having rejected it when he’d been with Daisy), he was shocked to learn that Bethany had chosen to get liposuction, which had gone wrong. She was stuck in a Turkish hospital with sepsis, which would eventually lead to a lifelong stoma bag.
When Daniel flew out to see her, Sarah was insistent that he shouldn’t be there, as she knew he’d been with Daisy. Feeling guilty, he pledged to stay by her side when she got back home.
Upon his return to Weatherfield, Jenny commented on the pair speaking — but, knowing he wanted to be loyal because of Bethany’s setbacks, Daisy insisted she needed to force herself to move on.
October
Feeling all the more insecure with her stoma, Bethany dumped Daniel — and when news got back to Daisy, instead of jumping at the chance to try and win him back, she selflessly visited Bethany, encouraging her to get back with him.
It was a move that made her love for Daniel all the more obvious; she was eager for him to be happy, accepting that it might not be with her anymore.
November
Though Daisy seemed to have forgotten what a wrongun Kit was, and unfortunately was growing closer to the bent copper, she was quick to ditch him in the middle of the Rovers when Daniel and Bethany entered, making a beeline for and showing genuine concern for her former rival.
It was clear she and Daniel were close once again, as the pair shared banter in the middle of the pub, with Daisy teasing Daniel when he went off on a tangent about the meaning of words. Their relationship seemed to be in a good place, despite her love confession mere weeks ago.

In the following episode, Daniel had a big ask of Daisy. After Bethany decided she’d get rid of all her clothes, sticking to baggier things that would hide her body, he wanted to store bin bags of her favourite items with Daisy.
Though it was hard for her to agree to help him in such a way, she gave in — it was growing clearer and clearer that she’d do just about anything for Daniel, and ‘moving on’ didn’t seem to be as easy as she’d hoped.
December
As Iain Macleod promised in the 2024 teasers that Daisy and Daniel’s buried feelings would ‘come back to the surface with a bang or two across the following 12 months’, fans had always known that December would be the turning point — and it certainly was!
The drama kicked off with a drunk and miserable Daniel stealing and crashing Debbie Webster’s car. Daisy was the only witness and, eager to help him out due to her ever present feelings, she took the car and torched it, to remove any trace of evidence.
Unfortunately, she was caught on CCTV, though she made out to Kit like she’d been the one responsible all along, insisting she’d been angry with Debbie, and had acted alone.
Later, Daniel headed back to speak with her again, thanking her for what she’d done, going on to say he ‘never knew what he had with her’. Learning he was now single, Daisy told him that when she looks at him she wonders ‘why did I ever blow it with that guy? Why did I let you go?’
Emboldened when she reminded him he didn’t want her, only for Daniel to insist he no longer knew what he wanted, Daisy kissed him. When she pulled back, he went in for a kiss again, and the pair ended up sleeping together.

Though Daisy hoped this meant they were back together, Daniel’s head was a mess. Guilt over the stolen car, coupled with further guilt when Daisy pointed out that Bethany would likely think they’d gotten back together because of her health complications, caused Daniel to apologise and say it never should have happened.
A devastated Daisy pushed him away after that, feeling as if she’d been used. Daniel, on the other hand, is currently riddled with guilt, wrestling with his feelings for Daisy and his loyalty to Bethany, due to what she’s been through.
Despite knowing what Kit is truly like, with the copper knowing about her involvement in the car saga (which also involved her hitting Shona Platt, as she tried to ditch the car), she decided to make things official with him for the time being.
Though both Daisy and Daniel are once again spoken for, the drama certainly isn’t over, as Monday’s visit to Weatherfield will see Daisy and Kit on a date at Speed Daal…with Daniel and Bethany at the next table!
With Daniel proposing on Christmas Day, it’s clear his guilt has spurred him on — but will Bethany say yes? And how will Daisy feel, seeing the man she loves proposing to someone else, on the very same day he proposed to her two years ago?
It’s clear that the truth will come out eventually, and with Daisy dumping Kit on December 27th after finding out about his affair with Shona, and Lucy Fallon’s maternity leave exit expected to air at the end of January, fans are hoping the Daisy and Daniel reunion will finally grace our screens in the New Year.
