Coronation Street Theory: Justin Escapes Prison?

Since Charlie Jordan's impending exit was announced last night, a plethora of theories have taken root across social media platforms. Corrie fans are keen to know how the much loved barmaid will bow out, considering she's currently embroiled in a love triangle, and expecting a baby.

While we're of course hoping for a happy ending, the exit is said to be 'explosive' — so what could that really mean for Daisy?

In late 2022, after finding a lump on her breast, Daisy's entire life was turned upside down in a clinic waiting room. When a nurse called out her name, in front of a man she'd been momentarily nice to while sitting there, everything changed. Justin Rutherford went on to become obsessed with her, stalking her for the following three months.

This all culminated in the obsessive man throwing acid at her on her wedding day, hoping to ensure 'nobody else would want her' once she was permanently disfigured.

Throughout his time stalking her, Justin came to believe that Daisy was in love with him, but Daniel was keeping them apart. He believed they'd eventually be together, and thought permanently altering her appearance would cause her to see he was the only one who truly loved her.

With Ryan Connor taking the brunt of the acid attack, ending up with permanent scars across his face, Justin was sent to prison for 10 years for grievous bodily harm with intent. As he was led from the court room, he shouted to Daisy that he still loved her, and they'd be together again someday...

While this sentencing took place less just 18 months ago, and there's no chance of his release anytime soon, could we be heading towards an escape from prison? It wouldn't be the first time a soap has had a character break out, after all...

Given Justin's insistence that the two of them belonged together, and she shouldn't be with anyone else, could seeing her carrying another man's child tip him over the edge?

As he insisted they'd 'be together again', might she meet her end at his hand, the stalker taking both her life and his own, in a twisted attempt to ensure their togetherness for eternity?

A fresh start away from the street with Daniel, Bertie and their unborn child would definitely be the send off we'd be eager to see, allowing the little family a little bit of happiness and the opportunity to return if either of them ever so wished to...but in soapland, is a full circle moment with her stalker a more likely outcome?
