In May this year, we were introduced to Detective Constable Kit Green, the alleged son of Bernie Winter. There's a lot we still don't know about the dodgy copper, but he's already proven to be a character that fans love to hate. Let's take a look into the reasons why...
1) His Identity.
Desperate to find her biological son, Bernie was keen to believe that Kit was the baby she gave up for adoption. The only proof we have that this could be the case are a) the name 'Christopher Green', and b) the elephant toy that was in his possession. But does this really mean he's being truthful about his identity?
Some fans have theorised that Bernie's real son may have been Kit's adoptive brother, or perhaps he's taken on his identity after the man died. Regardless, the lack of DNA test is something which may come back to bite Bernie at a later date...
2) Using Paul's Death in His Lies.
Following closely on from this, whether or not he's biologically related to Paul or not, using the man's recent death to cover his tracks on the night of Joel's murder was downright shady.
Bernie, Gemma and Billy are all in the depths of grief right now, and if they knew he was using their recently deceased loved one for his own gain, it likely wouldn't go down too well.
3) Undermining His Co-Workers.
Despite his crooked methods, and inability to play by the book, as a DC, Kit seems to think he's better than everyone else he works with. His treatment of Craig Tinker is unfair enough, as he seems to think he can get the younger man to do anything for him (and that's after scaring his mother off the street!), but his treatment of DS Swain, his superior officer, is even worse.
Not only does he talk down to her, but he's certainly gunning for her job - and was more than happy to send her down for Joel's murder, if it meant he could get a promotion.

4) Treatment of Women.
If there's one word I've seen tossed around more than any others about Kit (other than tall, of course) it's 'misogynist'. His treatment of female characters has been incredibly eye-opening to the kind of person he is. We've seen it in the way he acts around Swain, Bernie, Dee-Dee, Lauren, Beth, Daisy...he's a man who clearly thinks women are 'lesser'.
5) Tampering With Evidence.
Of course, this is one of the big ones. We've seen multiple times now that he's only out for himself, and doesn't play by the rules at all.
Between the hair he planted in Nathan's van, the information about his car deleted off the system, and the file he took the night Joel died? We know that Kit is one who will happily tamper with evidence to save his own skin and/or get a pat on the back.
6) Making Beth Leave Town.
After the planted hair, the first major red flag in Kit came in the form of his treatment of Beth Tinker. After discovering her dodgy dealings in selling counterfeit goods, not only he did he choose to get involved in this illegal venture himself, but he ensured Beth was forced out of town, threatening her if she ever returned.
7) Threatening Sarah and Daniel.
Although initially Sarah did intend to plant the hair to frame Nathan, she didn't go through with this. Instead, it was Kit who did - something which Daniel Osbourne realised. When he cornered the cop about this, Kit threatened to make life very difficult for him and have Sarah sent down for it, stating that he 'wasn't going to be a suspect in any of this'.
Daniel has been sitting on that fact, alongside all he knows about Beth, for awhile now. Could he end up exposing Kit, as the bloke tries to make a move on Daisy?

8) Manipulating Daisy.
We've already seen how Kit treats Daisy. He manipulated his way into her life in the first place, lied when she cornered him, and tricked her into opening up about the trauma of her dead little brother.
Fans have been speculating that things are going to take a dark turn with the duo, with many suggesting he may end up sexually assaulting her, attempting to kill her or being her second stalker. It's clear that his intentions aren't good, and whether physically or emotionally (or both!), she's going to end up hurt. We just hope Daniel will be coming to her rescue sometime soon...
9) Lack of Sympathy or Empathy.
It often seems as if Kit doesn't have a caring bone in his body. We've seen this time and time again, but most notably when dealing with suspects. Although arguably he's 'just doing his job', his treatment of Lauren Bolton in recent episodes stands out.
Though, of course, she is responsible for Joel's demise, he was notably harsh with her, when she was worrying about what would happen to baby Frankie.
10) He's Just Plain Cocky and Unlikeable.
While nice to look at, that might be the end of positives about him. His personality makes him impossible to warm to, and it's quite evident it's all leading somewhere much bigger. Jacob Green has been quite open about the fact Kit isn't a nice guy, and is only out for himself.
Just what is Kit truly capable of? Will we see him kill? Has he killed before? It seems pretty clear that there's a villainous streak in him...but just how far will he go?
