Legends are leaving Coronation Street - and we're devastated

Sadly, all legends must leave Coronation Street in the end. And it seems that a few of our favourites are all departing rather soon.

There are three huge legendary characters who have all been reported to be leaving the soap. And, we're not ready to say goodbye.

Legends are at the heart of Corrie, with the phrase not being thrown around lightly.

Only few characters stand the test of time and make it to legend status. And, we're about to lose a fair few over the next couple of years. As they say, all good things must eventually come to an end.

Gail Platt is sadly going to be leaving the soap after 50 years, and will head off to France on Christmas Day.

She's given us some great memories over the years, and the Platt family will be missing a huge member when she sets off for her new adventure. As much as we're excited for the festivities, we also don't want to say goodbye to our Gail.

Farewell to Evelyn

Another fan favourite reported to be leaving (and coming back for appearances here and there) is Evelyn Plummer.

Becoming a popular character due to her friendship with Roy and mothering of Cassie, as well as her bond with Tyrone and the great-grandkids, Evelyn deserves her legendary status.

But, reports from The Sun suggesting that the character will head to University to pursue a Law degree. We're hoping Evelyn comes back in the not too distant future though.

Death for Debbie

Again, reports from the Metro suggest that another legend is set to leave. This time though, they'll be killed off.

Debbie Webster - sister to Kevin - is set for a dementia storyline that will end up with the character dying.

However, she's set to still be with us in 2025, with the storyline set to be a long one. This being said... it's not too late to backtrack and save Debs. Please!
