As we enter 2025, there's already drama aplenty gracing the cobbles. Carla has sepsis, Daisy is pining for her newly engaged potential baby daddy, Cassie is poisoning Ken...the list goes on. It's been a strong start to the year, but what else would we like to see as the year goes on?
Strong and United Swarla
With Carla and Lisa now in a relationship, there've already been a few rocky moments, with miscommunication aplenty. Of course, we know that drama is to be expected in soapland, but we'd love to see these two communicate properly with each other, facing drama together, rather than being given drama that separates them. Relationships are a key part of Corrie, and we'd like to see theirs flourish.
Daisy and Daniel Reunion (And a Healthy Baby!)
Fans have been hopefully waiting for the reunion of Daisy and Daniel for over a year now, and it's high time they gave in to their feelings! It certainly seems we're growing ever closer to the inevitable, and we're hoping they end up back together and stronger than ever sooner rather than later. With Daisy clearly very excited to become a mum, some are worried we might end up seeing her lose the baby...so here's hoping they can raise it together!
More Community Scenes
While we know it's become commonplace to have less actors in scenes, it would be nice to see more scenes showing a variety of different characters in the Rovers, or getting together out in the street. Anything to allow different characters to have the chance to interact! We got a small glimpse of this on New Years Eve, it would be wonderful to see more.
Kit's Comeuppance
As the dodgy copper grows into more of a villain, there are few people on the street he hasn't managed to cross at this point! It seems he's making more and more enemies for himself. Might he be the next whodunnit victim? Or, with his list of crimes quickly stacking up, could he end up behind bars before too long?
Some Exciting Returns
It seems like returns could be in the pipeline during Kate Brooks' tenure, with Rob Donovan set to reappear on our screens next week! Though the cast is currently rather large as it is, it would be nice to see some familiar faces pop back, even if it's temporarily. Check out our list of returns we'd like to see here!
More Focus on Friendship
While relationships are the beating heart of any soap, it often feels like platonic relationships have fallen by the wayside in modern Corrie. Romance and rivalries are all the rage, but we'd love to see some characters bonding!
Less Affairs
While infidelity is certainly a soap staple, affairs and love triangles have been incredibly rife over the last few years. It would be nice to see a few less, with drama coming at couples and families from other sources, not always due to a third party.
An Exciting Villain
Though there've been a fair few villains in the last few years, it would be nice to see someone a bit different! Stephen, Joel, now Kit...all men who put on a charming front to hide their true persona. Isn't it high time we had another female villain? Perhaps we could get that Mad Maya return..?
And finally, perhaps a few exits...
While fans never want to say goodbye to much loved characters, it often feels like there are simply too many characters to keep up with these days, and many disappear for months at a time, with little to do. A couple of exits along the way, for those who seldom appear these days, would make room for more focus on the characters who are still around.
