With Yasmeen Leaving, What Will Happen to Speed Daal?

In the latest Corrie news, a spoiler has come out in the press saying our Yasmeen is off to pastures new.

Whether she joins Stu in Germany, heads off to stay with Zeedan or even ends up pushing up daises after the Corrie fire rumoured to be happening soon, it’s still all up in the air…

But if the rumours are right and Yasmeen is no more, what will happen to Speed Daal?

Alya and Yasmeen co-own the place, but with Alya now much more involved in becoming a lawyer, she has barely spent much time in the restaurant since her return.

Stu has gone to Germany, Mason, who was a waiter for the pair has obviously died, so there is main characters now working for Speed Daal. Here are a few things that might happen to Speed Daal…

Yasmeen sells her share to Alya

Perhaps Alya will own all of Speed Daal if Yasmeen decides to sell her or give her the share when she leaves.

While she’s busy doing all her training, it’s likely that Alya will have someone else run the restaurant. Amy could be a good shout as she’s been working on and off for a while now at the Bistro. Or maybe Leanne will jump ship after the fraud charge and manage the restaurant.

With her history of dating Alya’s dad, there is a relationship there. Ryan has also worked there on and off in the past and it would great to see him manage it for Alya.

Another character buys out both Yasmeen and Alya

Perhaps now Leanne is splitting with Nick, she might sell her share of the Bistro and buy Speed Daal. She could open a different restaurant or even keep it as Speed Daal with a new group of staff.

Another option is Dev could buy it perhaps and have Aadi working there. With his relationship with Amy, the pair could own and run it together in the future. Or perhaps Debbie will buy the restaurant. She’s been involved in the Bistro before, so perhaps she might want to add the restaurant to her collection of haunts.

It shuts down completely

I wouldn’t be completely surprised if the restaurant shuts down completely. A great way for ITV to save some cash, they could cut this set and just have the Bistro as well as the Rovers.

The building then could stay vacant until it’s necessary for a character to have this space for a new venture.

It makes sense as there hasn’t been many scenes in Speed Daal in recent times. However, I think it would be a shame for them to lose this interesting and unique set.

It becomes a new venture

If Alya and Yasmeen both sell their shares, and someone new buys it, it would be interesting to see it turn into something new and exciting. Perhaps more of a club/bar setting would work well on the street.

There is a lot of young adults on the Street who would be able to go for a drink and dance at the nightclub/bar. Aadi, Amy, Asha, Nina, Max, Lauren, Summer, Bobby….the list goes on.

It would be great to have somewhere to them to hang out. We never really see these characters at the Rovers, so would work well having a new place for them to socialise.
